Senior Lawyer - Planning LAG102
Full Time Permanent

Band K (SCP 36 - 40) £44,428 - £48,474 per annum
37 hours per week
Payment of Professional Fee, Flexible Working Arrangements

Stafford Borough Council and Cannock Chase Council operate a shared in-house legal service. The legal service is based at Stafford, but some travel to our Cannock office will be required as and when needed.  The post also has the benefit of flexible and hybrid working. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Planning Lawyer and are seeking a suitably experienced lawyer (solicitor, barrister or legal executive) with experience in planning law, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and dedicated team of lawyers involved in a wide variety of legal work and focussed on providing excellent support to both of our councils. As one of our Senior Lawyers, you will have the opportunity to become involved across the legal function, including the supervision of other team members, but with a particular focus on the provision of legal advice and support in town and country planning work. Experience in local government is desirable but not essential and so we would also welcome applications from individuals who possess the relevant skills and experience with a desire to expand that experience into local government work.
